Customer Service

An example of why 'Everyday is soo wonderful'. I, as an internet shopper, recently ordered items from two different retailers, one; ASOS, two; Topshop. As unfortunate as I can be at the best of times the snow came down therefore never recieved my order on the next day delivery service I requested and paid more for.

I wanted to share my experiences with both retailers and how I was compensated for the delayed delivery.

ASOS kindly sent an email first informing me that I shall not be recieving my items on chosen day due to the weather, which was then followed by a further second email of an apology, letting me know that all delivery charges I paid have been refunded (so basically worked out as free P&P, despite recieving it late) and also giving me a unique discount code for 10% off my next purchase with them. To be honest I wasnt expecting anything back so to be achknowledged and reinbursed did make me feel better towards the brand.

Its a shame I didnt have the same treatment from Topshop. No refund of next day delivery charges I paid, and no incentive discount. Just a mere automated email telling me I wont recieve the top I paid £40 for and no information on when I may recieve the item.

This was just a small experience that has made me thought about service from different types of brands and why some may think they can get away with giving incentives and others won't. I can safely give ASOS my thumbs up, however think I'ld be barking up the wrong tree getting my £5 back from Topshop.

Mixed Media Girls!

Nikki Farquharson is a London based graphic illustrator I have recently come across within my research. I immediately love the 'Mixed Media Girls' series.

Considering at the moment all that runs through my head when it comes to my uni project is words like - Digital, faux, dimensional, space, product, immediacy - these images fit right alongside of this. Balancing digital with the 'real' is similar to the unbalanced aesthetic online magazine Because has where it mixes the real with the fake into one moving or still image.

It's fun, quirky and as confusing as the mash of colours and patterns can be, you can still focus on the product it can potentially be selling.

Welcome to the First Wonderful Day

My first proper blogg deserves a first proper post! I'm knew to this so I'm hoping it will teach me to be more 'aspirational'  by recording my thoughts through this online journal.

I decided on the name "Everyday is so wonderful" as it can mean anything on how you wish to interpret it. Some days may be good, others may be bad - whatever the weather - Everyday will be so wonderful

Today is so wonderful for me as I'm about to head into the next step of my final and most awaited final year of uni. Exciting times (i think?) so hopefully using this as my journal will keep me motivated to what I find interesting - allowing space time I have to talk about things I like - and not let work get too tedious.

The picture of me playing the giant keyboard reflects how much computer keyboard time I'm going to be having over the next several months - (the only obvious way of me being 'quirky').

Now I'm acquainted I cant wait to read about all the other Wonderful Days I'm going to have.
